There are a number of steps you should ("must") take right after installing your theme. These are categorized here according to their priority and type of action to be taken -- specifically functionality, productivity and security, and appearance -- with a brief explanation about each. The most important one to do right away is to get a SSL Certificate or check the one your web hosting provider installed.
It is beyond the scope of this checklist to go into the exact details on how to implement the steps. These details can be found through an online search or by asking your developer. Also, the steps are listed in order of priority. Unless you have a good reason for not following the order, we strongly advise you to stay with the order. If you need to change the order, just make sure that eventually you have addressed each step.)
